UNDER CONSTRUCTION / In this series, I work with images of security fences in different materials, including a wall drawing, etching, stack of silkscreen prints on cardboard, hand-cut primed linen and charcoal on paper. Each fence is flawed with snags or buckles, reduced to collapsed grids or ineffective fragments, failing to secure or protect. In Quartered and Drawn, viewers were invited to select a card and draw it on the wall in the corresponding square, only gradually realizing that they were helping to draw a security or prison fence.
